Plastic Canvas - Jewelry Box

The plastic canvas craft work is such a simple and beautiful way to decorate. I had some left over yarn and these plastic canvases were lying down at my craft desk un used... Then I thought a jewelry box would be a kewl piece to have!!!

Materials:

Worsted yarn - 5 different colors (4 ply yarn)
Needle with a large ear hole
Plastic Canvas - 7 count (1 sheet, will make a tiny and a medium box)
Scissor

Almost used the same colors as in the charts for the rest fill with Cream color...

Method:

1. Count the holes not the bars and cut Plastic Canvas between the holes at the end (numbers in the template).
2. Trim off the edges so they dont poke, use the chart and start sewing (template given below, with color key).
3. I basically used the tent stitch or the continental stitch.

4. Do not knot the yarn but hold the tail with one hand and sew a few more stitches over the tail so it does not get loose.
5. After completing all the cut pieces (6 per box, the bottom can be left undone) join the pices using the back stitch.
6. Pretty much thats the end you will have cute Jewelry boxes...

For a Medium Box

Front/Back 41 bars wide and 15 bars high.
Top/Bottom 41 bars wide and 33 bars high.
Sides 33 bars wide and 15 bars high.

For a Large Box

Front/Back 67 bars wide and 15 bars high.
Top/Bottom 67 bars wide and 15 bars high.
Sides 33 bars wide and 15 bars high.

I don't see the color key, & one quick question...there's no lining for the large box? I need a box for my jewelry, it's a lil unsightly when you open the box and see the wrong side of the work. Would unworked pieces fit on the opposite side?

I wish you had given much more detailed instructions on how to make the lines/borders between the flowers. I really cannot tell from the pictures what I am supposed to do to make the borders. Could you please give more detailed information on this section of the project, please?
